Okinawa trainiing, Jason Meyer

Okinawa Shuri Te as experienced by Jason Meyer
Tuesday, May 22nd. As we entered our training area at Oak Haven Church, Jason had His projector and comments at the ready. We settled in chairs and He began by telling us about His trip and training in Okinawa. His trip started many months earlier with careful planning and training. He and His ‘Sensei Jose Winkels and other classmates at Keystone charted questions for Him to refer to. As is customary Sensei Isa and others met Him at the airport and His indoctrination to Okinawa began in earnest. It seems like it was very important for Sensei Isa to teach Him about cultural respect for Shuri Te and How the Islanders felt about their elders and their Martial Arts Culture. We are familiar with the names of the Masters of Karate and how it was brought into our Homes, but do not think that training is dormmate or taken for granted.
