Bill Mueller Seminar June 2017

Friday June 2, 2017:

Bill Mueller led a seminar for all members at Oak Haven.  The seminar was well attended by our members.  Mr. Mueller had recently led his dojo (Texas) to Okinawa for a training trip back in April.  He shared with the group in attendance on June 2 the importance of speed to our training.  We reviewed a number of waza techniques from kata along with one on one training drills. Mr. Mueller recommended four approaches to vary the approach to ippon kumite training to avoid developing a rhythm that is not practical.  Kicking drills moving the student to the inside and outside were practiced.  At the conclusion of the seminar a number of members went out to a local restaurant with Bill where he shared more details regarding his recent trip to Okinawa.

Monday June 5:

A number of our members met for a second training session with Mr. Mueller in St. Paul.  We worked on Kata and more speed techniques.

Both seminars were a great experience and wonderful training with Sensei Mueller and we look forward to our next training session with him in the future.
